Social Bookmarking and Social Networking Sites List

Social Bookmarking and Social Networking Sites List

brought to you by -[manakill]-

Social bookmarking sites and social networking sites is the recent BUZZ of the web industry. With huge numbers of visitors they have become widely popular means to spread information, well, exactly what I'm doing now. I'm taking information I found, and know, and compiling it into an easy to read format.

Here is a list of social bookmarking and social networking sites I know of.

Social Bookmarking:

i89.us - Export to several formats, see popular & recent bookmarks, ability to shorten URLs.

AllMyFavorites.net - Create an organized page for your bookmarks that you can share with friends and family, access from any computer.

Backflip.com - Check out the most popular links each day, set "The Daily Routine" as your homepage so you can visit your must stop sites each day with ease.

BibSonomy.com - Public & private bookmarks, tag cloud, related tags, duplicate detection with the chance to merge their info.

BlinkPro.com - Dynamic folders, bookmark all links of a page plus all the usual features.

BlogMarks.net - Save your bookmarks, tag them with keywords for easy searching amongst your list, share with others.

Bluedot.us - Tabbed user page showing a network of friends, bookmarks, and related tags. Allows you to import contacts from all the major mail services such as GMail and Yahoo.

BmAccess.net - Bookmark a site, add tags, when you look up a tag, you get the names and a little thumbnail image of the site along with it.

Chipmark.com - Browse random "chipmarks", share them, sort, filter, and get personal recommendations.

Complore - 10MB of file storage, public & private sharing, tag cloud, popular feeds and more.

Connectbeam.com - A themed social bookmarking site for enterprise-scale business.

Connectedy - Import your bookmarks, batch edit them, check in on hot topics.

Connotea.org - A themed social bookmarking site specifically for researchers, clinicians and scientists.

Diigo.com - Highlight portions of a page, write on it like you would a piece of paper, share with your group, and search all publicly saved pages.

Excites.com - Organize your bookmarks by tags, add comments and notes, share publicly, subscribe to certain tags so you can be notified when a new site is added that may interest you.

Feedmelinks.com - All the usual social bookmarking goodies, but you can also add links via email.

GetBoo.com - Export your folders to HTML, import and remove duplicates, delete all bookmarks.

Givealink.org - Donate your bookmarks to this site to help them recommend sites and get a better understanding of how each person bookmarks.

Hyperlinkomatic.com - Import/export, categories, notes, sharing, block users, RSS, tags.

IKeepBookmarks.com - Folders, search folder names and more.

Lilisto.com - Ratings, notes, categories, smart categories and in-page editing.

Linkroll.com - Links open in new window, subscribe to tags, browse by archives.

Ma.gnolia.com - Discuss all the saved bookmarks in groups, see what the Featured Linker is all about, join discussions in the Hot Group.

WireFan.com - You can vote on links as well as add thumbnails for sites.

Xilinus.com - Tags, rating, search, public & private listing, drag-and-drop sorting.

Yahoo! My Web - One button click adds your bookmarks to the search engine giants system, features duplicate detection to help you keep your bookmarks tidy.

Social Bookmarking Sites With Clipping:

BlinkList.com - Save sites for later reading, share your list or keep it private, even send your saved pages to your blog for wider sharing.

Clipclip.org - Like an online scrapbook, you clip out the part of the site you want, then share it with whomever you want, and discover new places to visit.

Clipmarks.com - Allows you to clip just the chosen bits of a webpage, save them to the main website, or even insert them into your own blog. Think of it as fancy block quoting.

del.icio.us - You add your bookmarks and access them from anywhere. Check out what others are saving and see where it takes you.

Furl.net - Not only can you do the standard bookmarking and sharing, you can save archived versions of a webpage and even export all your saved pages to a ZIP file.

Linktopia.com - Keep private, share, mark as friends only, edit bookmark dates.

RawSugar.com - Can cluster your tags for you based on recommendations by other users.

Simpy.com - This social bookmarker does all the usual plus detects links that have changed, and distributes your bookmarks via your blog's RSS if you like.

Spurl.net - You can upload your existing bookmarks to get started, add more for centralized access, check out hot lists and recommendations.

SyncOne.net - All the usual features plus the ability to add your own Google Ads to the top of your profile page.

URLex.info - Inbox, group creation, directory, all of the usual features, plus being able to send your RSS feed to the site.

Social News:

Blog-buzz.com - Similar to Digg, but for blog posts.

Digg.com - Synonymous with social bookmarking: you Digg a story, others Digg it, the more popular it gets the better chance it has of hitting the first page.

Netscape.com - A former contender in the browser wars, and the "mother" of Mozilla, it's now a a social news aggregator with voting of stories similar to Digg.

Newsvine.com - Users can write articles on current news events, save links to external content; vote, comment and chat on article pages created by both users and by journalists.

Reddit.com - You vote up or down on a story making it move around on the home page.

Shoutwire.com - Similar to Digg, except instead of "Digging a story", you "shout it". Still a way to vote on unique Internet news stories.

Thoof.com - Add news stories you find interesting, anyone can "improve" the article by fixing the URL, editing the summary and more.

Grandville High School Project Update

To make things more clear, we are NOT working with Jostens the Company, we are working with ONE Jostens REP. Hopefully one day we will work with the whole big company, but we'll see.

As of now you can go to http://www.sparrow-graphics.com to see the new Grandville Fundraiser t shirts! They are HOT HOT HOT!

Ironically enough, Grand Rapids Christian Schools happened across my blog today and gave us a call. So, "whats up!?" We are going to be doing a similar program for them now... a cool way to see how VIRAL we are as the main program hasn't been launched at Grandville yet, and we are already seeing things spider off. Time to hold on to our seat of our pants and pray we don't crash.

ART, FILES, FOLDERS, etc will be at Grandville tomorrow!

Grandville T Shirt Test Inches Closer

The Grandville High School T Shirt designs are getting approved as I type. So far Jostens has only GREAT things to say and they are very excited to get this ball rolling. I believe we have 10 designs for Grandville High School specifically, and 8-10 generic designs for 'another area.' I'm gonna miss going home early... :)

Today Randy, the graphic artist here at Sparrow Graphics, is working on the t shirts for Grandville High School. I'm really excited to see what they look like, and to get one before the kiddies :D

If you are from Grandville High School and you have any ideas for t shirts, let me know! YOUR design could be the next one that Grandville gets!

I just finished up printing up some Grandville - Kenowa t Shirts for Gymnastics. They look pretty good, just a normal 2 color pink and orange. Good luck this year girls!

Phantom Raw - Grand Rapids - Gun Rue

Phantom Raw gets off da hook in Grand Rapids - West Side. Gun Rue will love this new cd from Christ's 'Grand Mob'

Phantom Raw aka Craig aka Noble Slayer came over to the crib yesterday. He brought his cd for me to hear and it totally blew my mind. Now normally I'm a hard guy to please when it comes to music... let alone CHRISTIAN HIP HOP. That title kinda brings instant objection at first, but that 1st song was rockin and so was the rest! I'm into hardcore music so its gotta be fast, hard, and have a killer hook and Phantom Raw hits the keys right on target.

Now the tracks have to be named and I'll upload the mix tracks and b sides so Phantom Raw can give out FREE CDs. Artwork should be done within a week. Then we'll concentrate on t shirts and promotion. I don't expect any monetary gain from this, I just want to help out people and teach the right way of life, and this will only help me to do so.

We're going to rock Grand Rapids so hard the Amway Grand falls down!

The HOLY WAR is on!

Grandville High School t shirts

Meeting day went well. Jostens - the people that do yearbooks, caps, gowns, class rings, etc.. - is testing a new strategy, which cannot be discussed at this time. Overall, we are setting up a site for Grandville High School students(about 2k) to order class shirts from us, through Jostens. Last year we had a similar test, not so much a 'test' than an occurance that sparked ideas. One client ordered shirts for the yearbook staff, then by word of mouth, about 10 other orders came in. Now, with Grandville High School as a testing grounds, we'll see how much of a viral effect this has.

Shout out to Mr. Dolloff(sp?) at Grandville High School
Thanks for teaching me HOW to screenprint in Exploring Tech. class!
Hope to see you someday.

Custom Ink T Shirt Awards

I was very happy the other day when we got a tin of cookies from Custom Ink because we got a 100% perfection rating last month. Then we got a call from them congratulating us because they have NEVER had a printer hit that mark for 5 months in a row. That made me happy because I take pride in my work, but 5 months really isn't that long to go w/o error. That kind of says something about all 99.999% of the other printers that work for them.. But hey, when you work with fortune 500 companies, a certain level of skill is required so I get used to that quality. YAY, more work for us!

Cessna: The Original T Shirts

Hello fellow t shirt makers, or whoever you are. I am Matthew Grant Hoeksema, professional t shirt maker. I began working at Sparrow Graphics early in 05, primarly doing printing for Cessna, American Aviator, Flying Magazine, Oshkosh Flying Show, and a few other clients. Sporty's Magazine has some of our unique designs, and the rest are more common, and can be found at the main Sparrow site(Cessna t Shirts). We have 2-8 color presses, a 20ft dryer unit, and the other basic things found at a print shop.

Ever since high school I've had a passion for making t shirts. The old crew used to be Andy Johnson, Troy Ryan Longton aka Impunity, Kevin Cook aka Mithrandir, and I, Matt Hoeksema aka ManaKill. The crew broke up after high school due to the usual 9 to 5 crap. Troy passed away from an OD which was very unexpected. Now as far as the 'shirt crew', it is just me.. well, I guess I can count my biz partners and my lovely wife, who supports me 100%.

You can expect to hear me rant about things in the printing industry that piss me off. Including some golden tips that you may be able to use in your printshop. Granted you may not be making Cessna t shirts, but you start small and one day, who knows!
